Sherry~
BECAME A GYPSY IN: Danced with Gypsy Rhythm and then Desert Gypsy in 2009.
DANCE BACKGROUND: I'm the girl who can say “one time in band camp...” I was on my high school flag team where I was introduced to various styles of dance from ballet to drill.
YEARS DANCING: I started belly dancing in 2004
INTRODUCED TO MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE BY: My beautiful cousin. I was looking through the UVSC continuing ed catalog and wanted to take a tap class. She said no way, but she'd try belly dance...we've been dancing ever since.
FAVORITE STYLE OF BELLY DANCE: As long as it isn't freestyle, I like it.
STRENGTH: I (hopefully) follow directions well.
WEAKNESS: Zills and freestyle
EMBARRASSING MOMENT: So far I've managed to avoid any “costume malfunctions” or causing bodily injury with any props...I think I better go knock on wood now!
FAVORITE PERFORMANCE: I can't single one out. Each one has brought a unique rush that keeps me coming back for more.
PASSION FOR DANCING: When I'm not dancing I feel like a part of myself is missing. I love learning, growing, and stretching myself.
OCCUPATION WHEN NOT DANCING: Wife to a handsome redhead and mom to 5.75 kids
HOBBIES & INTERESTS: Depends on the moment and my mood. My fickle nature keeps me looking at new and exciting things.
